Org Health and Culture Reflection
Today’s post in this organizational health series is about YOU! Grab your journal or just a piece of paper and a writing utensil. Trust me, there’s a little magic that happens in your brain when you actually use your hand to write when you reflect.
Think about organizations you have been part of throughout your life. It could be places you’ve worked, sports or other teams you’ve been part of, churches or civic organizations where you’ve served, or a club like the Boy Scouts or the local Scrapbookers Anonymous.
How would you describe the organizational culture of those spaces? What was their vibe?
How did you feel when you spent time there? Did you look forward to going? Did you dread it? Why?
How would you describe the purpose or driving force there?
[How] did you know if you were doing what was expected of you?
If you could keep one thing about how that organization went about things, what would it be?
If you had the power to change one thing about that organization that would improve your experience there, what would it be?
How has your experience at those organizations shaped what you look for in a place to work or a group to join?
If you had the opportunity to create or overhaul an organization, how would you take what you’ve learned and apply it to this new space?
Let me know how your reflection went! Tell me your A-Ha! Moments in the comments!
